Product description
'Blood In Blood Out', Exodus' 10th studio release, continues their fruitful partnership with producer Andy Sneap. The vicious, razor-sharp riffing of guitarist Gary Holt (now also deputising for the sadly-departed Jeff Hanneman in Slayer) is married once again with the spitting, angry vocals of Zetro.Another previous band member - a certain Kirk Hammett - also contributes a searing solo.Older fans will know that few bands can deliver 11 tracks with the same unbridled intensity as Exodus, while newer fans will be open-jawed at their relentless energy. With major UK festival dates planned for 2015, 'Blood In, Blood Out' sees Exodus set to destroy all over again.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 January 2017What a great album, after 5 years from last album and 10 years since Souza left, he is back with full energy and blast the entire album.
After weird intro of 'Black 13' which sound not Exodus at all, comes the explosion, Souza is here and Exodus is back to thrash again.
The album doesn't stop for a second, good examples are between the opening track to the title track, there is no fade out, 'Black 13' ends and then boom! 'Blood in, Blood out' enter and you can't stay apathetic for it, you keep bang your head with no rest.
Another example is between 'Salt the Wound' to 'Body Harvest', again no fade out, no pausing, thrash all the way.
Album is a bit long, i would remove one or two songs, but still it thrashy all the way, after 5 years was worth the waiting, i prefer long gap between releases, it gives you the hunger, the passion, the anticipation and the taste for more and more, and it this case it was worth.
Artwork also is fabulous, it fit the music, it make me want to bite the jewel case like the zombies bites their skin and flesh, and also bite the disc itself but that is not recommended because i still need it to play.
Even Baloff RIP is mentioned here on the title track, and as the line say 'make Paul Baloff proud', he is irreplaceable but Souza has a great performance here, great solos by Holt and Altus, just wish they were longer, and this album is the best since the classic 'Tempo of the Damned' (although i like the latest albums with Dukes as well).
I am going to play this album again and again, and hope all thrash fans has it already. \m/
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 May 2017Of the so called 'other' thrash bands, which could threaten to expand the 'Big Four' into a 'Big Five,' pioneers Exodus could probably have the most legitimate and justified claim to the throne. They've always produced great albums, but tend to follow a good one up with an absolute turkey! For every 'Bonded by Blood' or 'Fabulous Disaster' there's an 'Impact is Imminent' or a 'Pleasures of the Flesh,' so inconsistency has been their Achilles' heel, that being said; they're probably the most consistently great thrash bands since the new millennium this side of Megadeth!
'Blood In Blood Out' however, is definitely one of the good ones! It has a ferocity rarely heard these days in any genre by any band, let alone a near 40 year old thrash band. 'Black 13' is a classic, epic, slow building archetypal thrash opener, who's pace is bested by the following title track - a no-nonsense, break neck speed belter.
This album is notable for its many guest appearances of other thrash luminaries. Kirk Hammett of Metallica (also an original Exodus member) lends a few characteristic licks to 'Salt The Wound,' while Chuck Billy of fellow 'other thrash band' Testament lends his vocals to arguably the strongest track on the album 'BTK.'
Gary Holt - the most under-rated of thrash's big, six string names is typically on fire on this album, whether it be leads or rhythm, he nails it! The return of 'Zetro' Souza on vocals is also a very welcome addition to fans alike, with his very Bon Scott-esque snarl, you can more or less call him the Bruce Dickinson of Exodus and it just suits the music so well.
It's a good one, thrash and Exodus fans need to hear it!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 November 2014I have intentionally held off reviewing the new Exodus CD because I haven't been getting the right feedback from my brain on any of my listens, sometimes this happens to us all and once the penny drops the brain transfers the positive response and we get a warm glowy feeling (im still waiting), but its not for happening, sure I have flashed the 5 stars but this is Gary Holt writing thrash metal people, 5 stars is credible alone for the shredding guitar work in the passages of pure riffing mastery and for the stripped down vibe just like a modernised 80s release of the Bonded By Blood to Fabulous Disaster era.
But im frustrated with it, I want to like it more but I cant warm to Souza on this release, Im not shedding any new info here but he is all about the screech, at least Dukes has some meat on the screech and I personally think Rob would have done a better job on Blood In Blood Out also, but reading all the other reviews I am obviously in a group of 1 here, what I do find strange though is that some of the same reviewers thought Rob was the best thing ever on their reviews of Atrocity and Human Condition (both of which are complete monsters and pushed Exodus to the very front of the Thrash metal revival),
When I compare this to say the last Onslaught release VI, well lets face it, Souza is no Sy Keeler, enough said...........
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 March 2016I love the music and it's certainly not an album to miss if you like exodus but I think it's like the slayer album in the fact it's thrash painted by numbers. Maybe I have listened to thrash for too long but this just felt let's stick to the formula but still enjoyable to bang your head too.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 16 October 2014It's been a crazy year for Exodus...firstly they dismissed their singer for the past decade Rob Dukes, and re-hired their most familiar vocalist Steve 'Zetro' Souza.
Putting it simply, what a master stroke by the band who have stayed true to their Thrash roots and consistently make the best Thrash Metal out of any of the 80's originators.
This is already album of the year. Every song is crushing. The musicianship is up there with anyone, particularly from the legendary Gary Holt. Steve Souza's return has also brought that classic 80's vibe back to their music which some say was missing during Dukes' tenure.
If you are going to buy an album this year, but this...you won't be disappointed.
Highlights are Black 13, the title track, Collateral Damage, BTK, Numb and Honor Killings.
Breathtaking Thrash Metal to make any listener rage! Paul Baloff (RIP) would be proud...welcome back Exodus!

5.0 out of 5 stars Exodus retoma su posición junto a los grandes del Thrash!
Excelente disco, con el sorpresivo regreso del vocal anterior, y el DVD de bonus es un detrás de cámaras muy completo.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exodus back to the peak of their game. Excellent!
Wow. The long awaited follow up to 'Fabulous Disaster' is here!!
This is the cd Exodus needed to make, but i was skeptical. After 3 solid offerings with Rob Dukes, Souza is back for a 3rd (?) time and he is furious on this. The snarly vocals with attitude really puts the band back in old school fashion. And he really belts it out on this disc. Just check out 'Body Harvest'. Damn! He lays it out strongly throughout. Adds a lot of flavor. The Vocals are recorded loud on here and very clear, so if Souza annoyed you in the past i would steer clear. His voice as backing vocals on the bonus track crack me up.
What is best about this is that it is refreshing for the band. Though i really did like the 2 'Atrocity Exhibit' discs, they were long and exhausting listens. Song length, long interludes and spit venom vocal delivery being the main culprits. But both were still solid 4 star discs. Like many, I was surprised by the vocalist switch again. Dukes did an awesome job, adding a punch to the band. A forceful one at that. But i think after the experimentation on the last 2 discs, the band were ready to come full circle again. Just play their old school, straight forward style with a severe modern kick in the as* and face what they are at heart, one of THE best thrash bands ever.
In all aspects they succeed. This disc is better than their initial return cd 'Tempo of the Damned' as well. And that was great. But every song on here is a keeper with just enough 'hook'to make you want to hear it again. Even the bonus track, with guest vocals, is a mid paced yet good song.
In this case the skeptic (me) was clearly silenced. This disc kills from top to bottom.
Souza is fierce, the riffs solid as rock, song lengths and topics work and the tracks stick with you. Just solid thrash metal through and through. Like taking up where 'Fabulous Disaster' left off.
Brutal yet catchy. One of the best of 2014 and definitely at the top of the thrash metal category.
Enjoy.
